A simple procedure.
My first biopsy was in 2008. Dr. Williams had discovered a lump in my right breast. The lump was sore and caused continuous discomfort. During that time I had a slight obsession with cancer. I didn't foresee myself avoiding it and expected it at anytime. Michelle and Maisha flew in for support.
As we sat in the waiting room of the facility, my nerves rested in my throat. When I was called back, I could feel their eyes on me. I didn't turn around. I started to weep and I didn't want them to see my fear.
Fast forward to a decade later, my second biopsy is scheduled for next week. A growth on the outside of my uterus... My doctor says it should be a simple procedure to remove it. I'm not concerned, I don't think it has finally caught me.
