IMO

You don't get credit for years invested in a failed relationship. They aren't transferable to a new school. I know it makes you feel good to say, "we were together 10 years" but ultimately it was sacrificed and perhaps wasted time. Now, hopefully, you experienced personal growth, I wish that for you.
